Meeting the Challenge of a Cleaner Environment

On January 1, 2000 the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Annex IV of Marpol 73/78 for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships became effective to regulate NOx emissions from diesel engines over 174 horsepower (130 kilowatts). To meet the needs of our customers, Cummins Marine's commercial product line is emissions compliant and certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Lloyd's Register of Shipping (check each engine's specification sheet for individual certifications).
