ISC - Interact™ System engine with 24 valves and full-authority electronics. The more your job demands, the more you are going to like the ISC. It is the ideal choice for a broad range of trucks from Pick Up & Delivery to dump trucks, refuse haulers and mixers. Its performance, coupled with weight savings, yield a package that is unbeatable. With its new High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) fuel system and proven Holset Turbocharger, the ISC delivers outstanding performance in a lightweight and economical package. Like firefighters, this engine is ready to respond quickly.

Performance To Haul. The ISC offers an unbeatable combination of power, performance and weight efficiencies. Its HPCR fuel system maintains high injection pressures regardless of engine speed for outstanding performance across the entire operating range. Since the ISC is among the leaders in low-weight and high HP, its power-to-weight ratio is exceptional. This means an ISC powered vehicle can offer the maximum payload capability without sacrificing performance. And, the ISC offers 950 lb-ft of torque. To help increase stopping power while reducing wear on vehicle brakes, exhaust brakes are available for the ISC.

ISB - A particularly strong performer, with increased acceleration, better mpg figures and 80% quieter operation at idle. The ISB takes everything we've learned over the past decade with the B3.9 and B5.9... all our experience... all our technical advances... to a new dimension. Virtually everything about this engine has been modified and improved, then proven and re-proven in test after test. The result is an engine which is both evolutionary... and revolutionary at the same time, thanks to something we call the Interact System.

The ISB is a fully electronic, 4-valves per cylinder, in-line 4 or 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel.

Virtually everything has been improved. It's built to run harder (more horsepower) and pull bigger loads (more torque) with better response off the line (improved torque engagement). It is designed to run longer (up to 15% longer than the previous B Series), on less fuel and come in for service less often (oil and filter changes now at 15,000-mile intervals). Plus, the ISB is up to 4dB quieter at idle.

Cummins Westport Alternative Fuel Engines: Clearly, A Step Ahead. While other engine manufacturers may be new to alternative fuels, Cummins has been in the business since 1988. Cummins Westport has three alternative fuel engines available. Building on the rugged, reliable design of Cummins diesel engines, the C Gas Plus, B Gas Plus and B LPG Plus have proven performance records, with millions upon millions of tough miles under their fan belts. Over 75 city fleets already use Cummins Westport natural gas engines, benefiting from the lean-burn, closed-loop technology that reduces both NOx and particulates significantly below urban standards.

Today all Cummins Westport natural gas and propane engines are certified to the rigorous new EPA 2004 standard emissions levels with a catalytic converter. The C Gas Plus and B Gas Plus natural gas engines are also certified CARB Optional Low NOx (1.8 gm/bhp-hr)
